In a recent article in Het Nieuwsblad Transport, the shortage of spots for truck drivers was recently highlighted. Currently, the Netherlands is missing 4400 spaces for trucks to park, forcing drivers have to look elsewhere to rest, often in conditions that are unsafe and unhygienic. This phenomenon is reflected in each Member State–no one can boast that they have enough parking spaces, and definitely not enough secure parking spaces, for truck drivers.
