In a moving demonstration of courage and professionalism, the staff at ESPORG member TWV Group recently proved that true security in truck parking goes far beyond fences and surveillance cameras — it’s about trained professionals who care and act when it matters most.
This week, at one of TWV’s secured truck parking sites in northern France, a driver suffered a cardiac arrest inside his cabin. Thanks to the quick reaction and teamwork of on-site agents Nicolas and Jimmy, the driver’s life was saved.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, the two immediately called emergency services and, with the assistance of another driver, managed to extract the unconscious driver from his cabin. Nicolas began immediately performing CPR until firefighters and paramedics arrived minutes later. Their decisive actions kept the driver alive for medical intervention.
TWV’s team leader, Jérôme, and CEO Walter Charpentier arrived quickly at the scene. The atmosphere was tense, with emergency services surrounding the truck, and all anxiously awaiting the doctor’s verdict.
And then came the news: the driver was alive and stable.
“The doctor was clear — without the immediate CPR provided by Nicolas, the driver would not have survived. This shows that our people are not just guardians of safety, but true heroes.” said the TWV CEO, Walter Charpentier.
The driver was taken to the hospital in Lens for further treatment
Beyond Infrastructure: The Value of Human Vigilance
TWV operates a Secure, Full-Service Truck Parking monitored 24/7 in France, offering high standards of safety, hygiene, and driver comfort.
This moving and powerful event that took place at TWV parking is a striking reminder that truck parking security is not only about surveillance — it’s about trained staff, present and ready to act.
ESPORG General Manager Dirk Penasse praised the professionalism of parking team’s response:
“This heroic act by TWV’s staff powerfully illustrates why having trained personnel on-site is indispensable. Their alertness and humanity turned a potential tragedy into a story of hope. We hope this example will inspire all secured parking operators across Europe.”
ESPORG and TWV share the same mission: to make Europe’s road transport safer and more humane. As an active signatory of the Drivers’ Wellbeing pledge powered by ESPORG, TWV’s secured parking site offers not just a place to park, but a space where drivers are cared for, protected, and valued.
As TWV CEO Walter Charpentier concluded:
“Technology of our secure parking can detect, but only people can save lives. I want to express my deepest thanks to Nicolas, Jimmy, Jérôme, and everyone involved in this intervention. Their quick thinking, professionalism, and humanity literally saved a life and defines what TWV stands for.”
